Instagram vs. Reality is a commonly seen online meme which reflects our usage of social media to show our best selves rather than the truth. The use of wordplay in the Chinese title of 照骗 (zhàopiàn), by swapping the original 片(piàn) for 骗(piàn - meaning fake) refers to the act of producing a fake image or lifestyle just for the internet and the English title of Finsta refers to people’s “fake instagrams” or fake accounts where ironically they can truly be themselves.
