Holding Space (2025)
Holding Space
Holding Space (2025) is a fabric wall-based sculpture that brings intimacy and softness into material form. A circular canvas wrapped in faux fur serves as both backdrop and embrace, while a fabric pocket stitched with the words holding space in red thread anchors the work. At once tactile and symbolic, the piece functions as a resting point—an invitation to pause within the chaos of everyday life.
This work marks the beginning of a new body of exploration into the dynamics of committed monogamous relationships following a period shaped by online dating. It reflects on the shift from fleeting digital exchanges toward the grounding presence of sustained connection. By combining the language of domestic craft with the physicality of sculpture, Holding Space gestures toward love as both structure and refuge: something we make, tend to, and return to for comfort.
