Welcome to Paradise (2014)

Welcome to Paradise was a duo installation-based exhibition by Lizzie Wee and Nora Chuff. The show featured a collection of vintage found images of Wee’s home countries in Southeast Asia, Malaysia and Singapore, and ceramic wasps’ nests crafted by Chuff interspersed throughout a staged environment with ‘tropical’ and ‘vacation’ aesthetic furniture and decor. The show also has a site-specific ‘club’ erected to comment on the packaging and ‘resort-ifiying’ of ‘paradise’ like places like Wee’s home countries and places Chuff has visited on holidays.
