Between Worlds (2024)

Samh 55th Gala Dinner

Held at ACM (Asian Civilisations Museum) Singapore, Between Worlds, was a micro-exhibition of beneficiary artists of SAMH, whose work was up for auction to fundraise for SAMH’s 55th Anniversary Gala Dinner. All beneficiary artworks in the show sold-out and was an important showcase to speak directly to the realities of living with Schizophrenia. In learning to navigate between the tangible world and the hallucinations or delusions the artists perceive as real, the artworks offer insight into their struggles and joy in their paintings. In showcasing the delicate balance between the two realities, viewers are invited to approach with an open mind and encouraged to have understanding and empathy for their journey as they reconcile the two worlds they inhabit. Proceeds from the sales of these artworks were split between SAMH and the beneficiary artists themselves, in order to best support their future creative endeavours and their recoveries.
